i walked into math class having missed the first 2 days. the teacher looks up and is like "ashley! its good to see you. i was hoping it was you. i got your email this morning. how many ashley p. thomases could there be?"

he was glad to see me. thats always nice. hes a good teacher. even though last summer i didnt pass his class he was very helpfull. its always nice to be remembered and liked. i dunno. made me smile.

As my plant biology teacher explained to our class, it's in a teacher's business to fail a certain number of students. It's an adaptive measure that bolsters their job security, thus increasing their overall chances of not only survival, but success. If your math teacher adhires to my biology teacher's ideas of adaptation, he was probably pleased to see that he was doing his job, and thus had adapted to his role as a teacher successfully.

Of course my biology teacher, the one who told us all this, was senile. Great teacher, but senile.
